Privacy policy
This policy describes how Barrie First Aid & CPR Training collects, uses and discloses your personal information when you visit this site or book a course. Last updated 10 September 2026.
Collecting personal information
When you visit the site we collect certain information about your device and your interaction with the site, and the information needed to process your booking. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for support. In this policy, any information that can uniquely identify an individual is called “personal information”.
Device information
- What we collect: browser version, IP address, time zone, cookie information, which pages you view, search terms, and how you interact with the site.
- Why: to load the site correctly and to understand how it is used so we can improve it.
- How: collected automatically using cookies, log files and similar technologies.
Booking information
- What we collect: your name, billing address, email address, phone number, and the name and email of each person attending.
- Why: to register you and each attendee in the class, take payment, issue your certificate, and contact you about your booking.
- How: collected from you when you book.
Sharing personal information
We share your personal information only where it is needed to deliver the course and your certificate:
- Assured Response receives the name and email of each attendee, because your certificate is issued by Assured Response, a WSIB-approved training provider, and the booking calendar on this site is operated by them.
- Stripe processes your payment. Card details are entered on Stripe’s own secure checkout page and are never held by us.
- We may also share personal information to comply with applicable laws, to respond to a lawful request for information, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site, and Google Ads to advertise our courses. You can read how Google uses your information at policies.google.com/privacy, and opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at google.com/settings/ads, or opt out of several advertising services at once through the Digital Advertising Alliance’ portal at optout.aboutads.info.
Using personal information
We use your personal information to deliver the service you booked: registering you in a class, taking payment, issuing your certificate, and contacting you about your booking or a change to it.
Retention
We keep your booking and certificate records for as long as we need them to prove your certification and to meet our obligations as a training provider. If you would like your information erased, email us and we will tell you what we can remove and what we are required to keep.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about you by automated means. Our payment processor carries out limited automated checks to prevent card fraud, which do not have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Email info@barriefirstaidtraining.com and we will respond.
Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of information stored on your device when you visit a site. We use cookies to make the site work, to remember your choices, and to understand how the site is used. Session cookies last until you stop browsing; persistent cookies last until they expire or you delete them.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can block or remove them through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may stop parts of the site working properly, and may not by itself prevent information being shared with advertising partners; to opt out of those, follow the links in the section above.
Do Not Track
There is no consistent industry standard for responding to Do Not Track signals, so we do not change our data practices when we receive one.
