Georgian College ยท Dental Assisting & Hygiene
CPR requirements for Georgian Dental students
The certification you need
CPR-BLS only
Just CPR at the BLS level. You do not need the full first aid course.
Georgian's Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs require CPR at the BLS (Basic Life Support) level, and only CPR. You do not need the full Intermediate First Aid course, so this is our shorter, lower-cost CPR & AED course, not the $138 combined one.
At Barrie First Aid that is the CPR & AED course at the BLS level: $73 + HST, 2 hours online and 2 hours in class, minutes from campus. Choose BLS as your CPR level when you book.
Georgian College students save 15% with the code GEORGIAN, entered at checkout.
- BLS is the healthcare-provider CPR level dental clinical placements ask for, and CPR-A or CPR-C will not meet it.
- A CPR-BLS certificate is valid for one year, so plan to renew it every year, before your clinical rotations.
- Because you only need CPR, you save both time and money over the full first aid course. It is the same certification your program actually requires, without the extra day.
In a similar program at another Ontario college, university or private college? The requirement is usually the same. Confirm your own program’s wording, then book the same course.
Requirements can change and vary by intake, so always confirm with your Georgian program before booking. Not sure? Call us at 705-985-3478 or send us a message.
