Coming from Orillia
First aid training for Orillia: one trip to Barrie
How far it actually is
About 25 minutes down Highway 11
We are in north Barrie, the end you arrive at, so you do not cross the city. Free parking on site.
We know of no centre in Orillia running open, publicly bookable courses from a WSIB-approved first aid program on a regular schedule, which is why people search for this and end up looking at Barrie.
The honest version: you make the drive once. The theory is done online at home before you come, and the hands-on day is the only part that happens here. For Intermediate First Aid that is a single 7.5 hour day. For Basic it is a single 4 hour day.
What the trip actually involves
- We are at 4 Alliance Blvd, Unit 7, in the north end of Barrie. Coming down Highway 11 that is the side of the city you reach first, so there is no crossing town and no downtown parking.
- Parking is free and on site. Come to Unit 7.
- The online portion is emailed the moment you book and can be done any time before your class day, so the trip is not the course, it is the last part of it.
When the drive is not worth it
If your employer will book a group, we will come to you instead. We run the course at your workplace on a date that suits your operation, anywhere in Simcoe County including Orillia. Group pricing starts at six people, so from six up that is usually cheaper than sending people one at a time, and nobody drives anywhere.
