The two parts

Every course here is blended. The theory is done online at home, at your own pace. The hands-on skills are done in class at our Barrie centre, with an instructor.

Your online access is emailed to you the moment you book. You can stop and start as often as you like.

How long each part takes

The online part comes first

The online theory has to be finished before your in-class day. You cannot complete it on the day.

If you do not finish in time, you will not be able to complete the course on that date. Email info@barriefirstaidtraining.com as early as you can to ask about moving it. A date change has to be requested by email, and a phone call does not count as notice.

Why there is still a day in class

Your certificate is issued once you have completed the online portion and successfully demonstrated the required skills on your in-class day.

First aid course content meets CSA Z1210:24. Clause 4.3 of that standard sets a minimum number of hours for the practical skills component: 3.5 at the basic level and 7 at the intermediate level, not counting the knowledge component, registration or breaks.

On the day

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, because you will be kneeling on the floor to practise chest compressions. Bring valid photo ID and indoor shoes or socks: you need both to take part. Your start time is in your booking confirmation email, because it varies by course and date.

Who issues the certificate

Barrie First Aid & CPR Training is an authorized Assured Response provider. Your certificate is issued by Assured Response, a WSIB-approved training provider.
